Has the history of a farm house of Minho where its people dedicated themselves to agriculture, cattle raising, the vine and the wine. How to mark these activities linger until today the granary, the mill wine distillery and numerous agricultural tools.
Placed in the heart of Minho, the Casa Lata is inserted in a rural property with about of 3.6 hectares in Amares, between Braga and the National Park of Peneda Gerês, in the North of Portugal. CASA da LATA represents the authenticity and genuineness of Portugal, as well as its well-known art of hospitality.
The decor and furnishings comply with other environments while preserving the characteristics of the rural environment and pleasant, proof of this is the living room which gave rise to the cellar, where they made wine in the stone mill, which is still in the original place.
In this environment of tradition there is now a modern wine cellar where our Terras de Amares Wines are produced from the indigenous grape varieties of the Vinho Verde Region between the rivers Cávado and Homem.
Currently is José Carlos Costa and his daughter Margarida who give life to this family project, which became possible after the reconstruction of the House, that in the past belonged to his uncles Family Pereira Lata, whom we honor and dedicate this project.
The main house has 13 rooms of different types, with double beds and twins, equipped with all the amenities for a peaceful and pleasant stay. Guests can also make use of common spaces as lounge, games room with billiards and table games, outdoor pool for adults and children and many green spaces.
The leafy trees that surrounds the House, where the secular olive trees typical from the orange trees in the region, provides the freshness of shadows and the pleasure of sweet aromas and flavors of its fruits, which are used in breakfast, in particular, the homemade cakes, freshly squeezed orange juice and jams.
Next to the main house there is a rustic house with a view over the vineyards – Casa do Garrafas. This house is fully equipped and allows accommodation up to 8 people (4 adults and 4 children). It has two bedrooms with a double bed and private bathroom, a sofa bed for two people and a divan with two single beds for children. It also has a common bathroom, a living room with TV, free wifi, a glazed balcony overlooking the vineyard, dining area and kitchenette.
Located in the Vinho Verde region, the Casa Lata have always been closely linked to the production of wine, one of its ex-libris of the region.During the stay, Casa Lata offer to the guests a tasting of one of our wines and a guided tour of the cellar.
