Water falls from a nearby stream, creating a small waterfall that gives the house its name.
Mariana Peres, 26 years old and graduated in Management, decided to follow in her family’s footsteps, and saw this property in need of restoration as the realization of her dream of opening a rural guest house.
Rebuilt from the main building of a farm with more than 5 hectares in Terras de Bouro, Casa da Cascata is located in the middle of a breathtaking, green landscape. The magnificent property has direct access to the Caniçada dam and the Cávado river.
It consists of four bedrooms — two of them with double beds and the rest with two single beds — and can accommodate up to eight people. Inside there are two bathrooms, a living and dining room and a fully equipped kitchen.
The simplistic luxury decoration fits perfectly with the place where it is located, but has notes that take us to other places. White, straw and wood tones convey a lightness that makes us feel at home and above all at peace and harmony with nature.
The large garden with a magnificent swimming pool and views of the magnificent Serra do Gerês landscape is yet another reason to rest and relax.
Guests can also enjoy the outdoor dining area, with a magnificent awning and Comporta style lamps.
Casa da Cascata is located in Gerês, 14 km from Termas do Gerês, 29 km from University of Minho – Campus de Gualtar (Braga) and 31 km from Braga Cathedral. Providing free private parking, the guest house is 6.9 km from Barragem da Caniçada and 9.4 km from Santuário de São Bento da Porta Aberta.
