The Villa Pedra Natural Houses project brought the old Aldeia de Cima to life in Cotas – Soure, 28km from Coimbra, in ruins and abandoned for more than 80 years.
The natural environment and the extensive landscapes in which it is involved awakened in its current owners the desire to revive it for the new generations.
Thus, house by house, the village gained life and an identity very unique, offering its visitors a trip to the rural world, to the customs and traditions of the past, at the same time marked by comfort and refinement of our times.
The work carried out respected the spirit of the region and the traditional techniques of construction, conserving the ecological and aesthetic basis, thus guaranteeing absolute comfort throughout all seasons of the year.
Open to the public since 2009, it currently has 11 Villas recovered, of different types, all of them with access to an outdoor space private.
The villas adapt to all family variables, with names of trees and aromatic herbs found in its private gardens – Jasmin, Rosemary, Cherry, Lemon, Nesper – demonstrating individuality and personality of each home, while maintaining comfort and privacy.
The 11 villas have a common garden in addition to the private ones in each house and a chill-out area, which invites you to sunbathe.
The swimming pool is an excellent alternative to hot summer days, as opposed to the heat of the fireplaces in winter. It includes amenities such as cable television, internet, air conditioning, central heating and fully equipped kitchens, which allow the preparation of complete meals.
It can include breakfast, with no time restrictions, where bread baked in a wood-fired oven is delivered along with local products.
Customers can also enjoy the village’s common garden, a element of fun for children and rest for parents.
The chill-out, a wooden structure strategically positioned on the top of a hill, offers a panoramic view over the area and provides moments of relaxation and alienation from the everyday world.
